Children & Young People

Children and young people are at the core of our services. They were the inspiration and motivation for the Hub to be the project it is today and were actively involved in the design of the building.

There is a dedicated room for our young people, it is their space, owned by them, and is an integral part of the Hub. The room is vibrant and kitted out with games, technology, cooking and art facilities which support extra-curricular development and social inclusion for our dispersed young people. Prior to the Hub there were no extra-curricular opportunities for young people in our immediate locality.

Young people are continuously engaged in this space, consulted on existing and future services, ensuring that our delivery meets what they need, want and that it remains current.

Our clubs and classes are split into pre-school, primary and secondary. All activities can be seen on our “What’s on” page. All clubs delivered for children and young people by the Hub are free with thanks to funders support and volunteers. Without them we could not offer these crucial opportunities which provides them with services enjoyed by their urban counterparts.

Our services for children & young people from birth upwards provides a holistic approach to childhood development. The Hub is there to support and provide opportunities which aid the successful transition from one life stage to the next through to the preparation to becoming successful, happy, engaged adults.

At the core of our services of Children and Young people is Safeguarding. It is our responsibility to ensure that all children and young people are kept safe from harm and to report any concerns. We do this through updating and keeping updated policies, procedures and their implimentation, staff and volunteering training. All staff and volunteers working with children and young people are PVG registered. The Designated Safeguarding Officer for the Hub is Hayley Bangs. The Kyle of Sutherland Hub

is a unique and vibrant facility open to all, 7 days a week all year.

Located in the Scottish Highlands' county of Sutherland, between the villages of Bonar Bridge and Ardgay. The Hub is just a stones throw away from the NC500 route.

Housing the north's premier soft play, fitness suite, cafe, rooms for hire, and a diverse range of clubs and classes there is something for everyone young, old and those in between.smile

The Hub is a voluntary managed social enterprise and registered charity, facilitating physical and emotional health and well-being, reducing isolation, creating opportunities for skills development and overcoming multiple levels of deprivation faced by our communities due to location.

Through community engagement we aim to provide clubs, activities and classes that met the needs of all ages and abilities and enhance the Kyle of Sutherland as a place to live, work and visit.

Children and Young people are at the core of our service from birth upwards. They are central to developing services aimed at them, there implementation and what happens next for them.

The Hub is a community owned asset which started life on an old double-decker bus and two temporary classrooms. It is a project at the heart of the community, that is fully inclusive, non-judgmental and engaging. The Hub supports local employment and volunteering opportunities.

You will be guaranteed the warmest of welcomes at the Hub where we strive to make every persons visit a positive experience.
